I recently bought a Tricity TSC09 as described above but cannot find all the features that you describe.

Everything seems to work EXCEPT the ‘delay start’ feature. Is this your error or is there something that I missed?

Also, there was no cooking guidance (recipe book or even a brief guide as to temperatures, cooking times, etc.), only an ‘installation manual’ which is not very helpful at all.

Please could someone let me know if they have the same problems or advise me how to cope with this otherwise good looking machine?

I am trying to trace the manufacturers of this product, as I would like to notify them of a potentially dangerous fault.

I had a new Tricity TSC09 slow cooker, sadly used only twice before it melted! I placed the slow cooker on my kitchen work top approx 50cm from my hob. OK a little close, but no closer than my toaster or any other kitchen appliance. On using the hob to boil potatoes, the heat from the gas ring (not excessive), has melted the plastic front and trim of the slow cooker. Luckily I was in the kitchen at the time and was able to attend to the matter. I have pictures to illustrate the damage should you wish to see these.

I write, as I feel obliged to notify Tricity of these events, and would like to suggest that Tricity look into their use of plastics, and consider the use of one that can withhold stronger heat sources, bearing in mind they are producing an item intended to be used in a functioning kitchen.

I’d very much like to know how the delay start can be set. There is no mention of it in the woefully inadequate user manual.

I bought the Tricity TSC09 Slow Cooker days ago, as we’re without a kitchen currently due to building works. I was managing with my microwave & salads due to merely a small table in my dining room for preparation work. The Micorwave is on a table in the lounge, cooker & kettle are on the floor in the middle room……… ‘it’s great fun :-( . Anyway it’s too cold for salads now I’ve decided, I’ve therefore bought this slow cooker this week. Just put a bolognaise together & left it to cook in the slow cooker. It may not have been the best choice of receipe for a first use of the slow cooker, for someone with no knowledge of them before, but we’ll see how it turns out.
